Executive Board
Peter Iskander, MD, HBSc:
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Dr. Iskander completed his medical degree at AUA before joining The Wright Center for GME for his Internal Medicine residency. During that time, he acted as Chief of Scholarly Activity for his program, where he helped establish the SSAJM with his team to promote research and publications for all residents. He is currently a 2nd-year GI Fellow at the same institution. In his free time, he loves to cook/bake and rarely passes up the opportunity for a game of volleyball!
Edwin Mogaka, MD, PhD:
Dr. Edwin Mogaka is a dedicated physician and currently practices at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where he is recognized for his clinical excellence, thoughtful communication, and collaborative approach to healthcare delivery. He is an alumnus of The Wright Center Family Medicine Residency Program, Class of 2024.
In addition to his clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Mogaka is a founding member of SSAJM, underscoring his commitment to advancing global health scholarship, medical education, and equitable access to high-quality medical knowledge.
Amninder Singh, MD:
Dr. Amninder Singh is a Cardiology Fellow at The Wright Center for GME. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having served in the Indian military and acting as a reviewer for various medical journals. Dr. Singh is passionate about clinical research in Cardiology and actively encourages fellow residents to get involved. He is a founding member of the Editorial Board at SSAJM.
Tejas Nikumbh, MD:
Dr. Tejas Nikumbh is a physician and academic with training from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India—one of the country’s oldest and largest medical institutions. Early exposure to a high-volume government hospital sparked a strong interest in research and evidence-based medicine. He is currently the Chief Resident for Research and Scholarly Activity at The Wright Center for GME in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he enjoys mentoring residents and advancing scholarly work. He plans to pursue a career as an Academic Hospitalist, with long-term goals centered on clinical excellence, leadership, and mentorship. Outside of medicine, he values time with his family, enjoys long drives, and kayaking as a way to unwind.
Keerthy Gopalakrishnan, MD:
Dr. Keerthy Gopalakrishnan is an internal medicine resident at The Wright Center for GME, with one year of research fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic. Her research interests focus on the application of artificial intelligence in medicine, particularly in the development of diagnostic tools. She is passionate about interlinking technology with patient care to improve healthcare outcomes for both patients and physicians. During her residency, she has served as a scholarly leader, supporting peers in academic development, and is an active member of the research committee within her program. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented at multiple national and international conferences.
Nathan Cardona, MS:
Nathan Cardona is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a background in Occupational Therapy. Nathan serves as the Director of Scholarly Activity, Institutional Research, and IRB Administration at The Wright Center for GME and has a passion for a wide range of medical research activities.
