Abstract

This case report describes the presentation of a 47-year-old female living in Pennsylvania who presented with a two-week history of palpitations associated with episodes of pre-syncope. Initially, the patient's electrocardiogram (EKG) showed a heart rate in the 90s with type 1 atrioventricular (AV) block; however, once admitted and feeling more relaxed, her EKG revealed complete heart block. This case highlights the importance of considering Lyme disease as a potential cause of heart block in patients with relevant exposure and the significance of vigilant history-taking, especially in regions endemic for tick-borne diseases.
